After months of speculation and rumors, Linkin Park have officially begun their new era with a new singer and it turns out the rumors were right: they're making their return with a female vocalist. The band unveiled Dead Sara's Emily Armstrong as their new singer during a special show and livestream.

Armstrong joins classic members Mike Shinoda (co-vocalist, multi-instrumentalist), Joe Hahn (turntablist), Brad Delson (guitar), and Phoenix (bass), along with new drummer Colin Brittain (original drummer Rob Bourdon is not involved in the reunion). Together, they're releasing a new album called From Zero and shared its lead single "The Emptiness Machine." They'll also be heading out on a worldwide tour later this month, playing the United States, Germany, England, South Korea, and Colombia.

Shinoda shared a statement about the new era, saying: "Before Linkin Park, our first band name was Xero. This album title refers to both this humble beginning and the journey we’re currently undertaking. Sonically and emotionally, it is about past, present, and future—embracing our signature sound, but new and full of life. It was made with a deep appreciation for our new and longtime bandmates, our friends, our family, and our fans. We are proud of what Linkin Park has become over the years, and excited about the journey ahead.”

This will be Linkin Park's first tour since singer Chester Bennington tragically took his own life in 2017. From Zero is slated for a November 15 release. Watch the livestream, listen to "The Emptiness Machine," and see a full list of tour dates below.
