Employees at a Marco's Pizza restaurant in Austin, Texas, beat down an armed would-be thief prior to his arrest, according to an Austin Police Department affidavit obtained by FOX 7 Austin.

Richard Curtis, 19, was charged with aggravated robbery in relation to the October 10 incident. Curtis reportedly slipped a note stating, "Don't say s**t, empty the drawer" to an employee before showing a gun in his waistband at around 7:00 p.m. local time.

The employee reportedly grabbed Curtis and put him in a chokehold while a co-worker called police. The store's manager grabbed the gun from Curtis' pants and reportedly attempted to shoot the suspect, however, the gun didn't fire so he instead used the weapon to mangle Curtis' face.

The manager then grabbed a knife from the kitchen and asked Curtis if he preferred prison or death, to which the suspect allegedly responded "prison." The fighting ceased and Curtis waited for Austin Police Department officers to arrive at the scene, at which point he was detained.

One employee was reported to have suffered a head injury in relation to the incident, according to FOX 7 Austin. No additional details about the incident were included in FOX 7 Austin's report published on Tuesday (October 15).
