A wise man once said "act your age not your shoe size," and the world was never the same again.

This same man released a whopping 197 singles, sold over 150 million records worldwide, won seven Grammy Awards, seven Brit Awards, one Academy Award, and had everyone partying like it was 1999 at the turn of the century.

The genre-blending icon, responsible for mega hits like, "Kiss," "When Doves Cry," "Little Red Corvette," "Raspberry Beret," and "Purple Rain" among other chart-toppers, was an absolute visionary and master lyricist whose creative genius was cut short following his untimely death in 2016 at just 57 years old.

In addition to leaving a lasting impact on the music industry, this influential hitmaker is remembered for being the shortest rock star to ever grace the world's stages.

According to The Shot, the shortest rock star of all time is Prince at a height of 5'2". Other short but mighty rock legends on the list include Paul Simon, Amy Winehouse, and AC/DC's Angus Young at 5'3", John Oates of Hall & Oates at 5'4", and Piano Man Billy Joel at a height of 5'5".

Here's what The Shot had to say about the shortest rock star of all time:

"What can you say about a legend? Prince was the ultimate talent, showing intense expertise in songwriting, singing, and performing basically every instrument that exists—not to mention his stints in production and acting."
